"I've been a vegetarian all my life."

He loves math, gets really good grades, and belongs to the Rasta religion. "My father is a vegetarian and he taught the whole family to eat that way, I don't eat candy or drink sodas, never have in my life."

Mikael Tong is 17 years old, he gets his last name from his Chinese grandfather but he was born in Miami, "I am a native," he says.

Football is his favorite sport; he has played for Miami North Western.

It was a guy named Roger who brought me into the program, he gave me Erin's number and I called her and she told me to come to work at the Farmer's Market and I have been working here since May."

I make some money working here, and I have learned to eat a variety of different fruits, which I did not get at home.

Mikael is in his senior year at William H. Turner Technical, he wants to become an engineer and learn building construction.
