YL will be training the new Youth Peer Educators this summer to prepare them to conduct 2-hour food justice workshops this Fall. The afterschool program runs from September through December each year, and youth apprenticeships at farmers' markets run from January to May. Our Featured Students are part of a coalition of empowered youth activists who address food & environmental justice issues in under-served communities. Trained youth outreach workers conduct surveys to gather feedback concerning food, health, and more in their neighborhoods.
